Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO) has confirmed it will drill a kilometer-long undersea tunnel to release treated radioactive water from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean, a project intended to begin as early as mid-2023.
